Allen Rivas

Allen Rivas was born in Camaguey, Cuba. He received his classical ballet training at the Vocational School of Arts (1991-1995) and the Professional School of Arts (1995-1998) in Camaguey.

Upon graduation Mr. Rivas joined Ballet Santiago de Cuba (1998–2000) and Ballet Laura Alonso (2000–2002) where he had the opportunity to do international tours to Guadeloupe Island, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Salvador. As a professional dancer he worked with choreographers such as Alberto Mendez and Julio Lopez.

In 2007 he came to live in the U.S. and was part of the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami and Cincinnati Ballet as a Guest Artist. Some of the ballets performed by Mr. Rivas are The Nutcracker, La Fille Mal Gardée, Le Corsaire, Swan Lake Act II, Don Quixote, Coppélia, La Bayadere, Bahakti, Canto Vital, The Fairy Doll, Paquita, Sleeping Beauty and others.

This is Allen’s second season with Kentucky Ballet Theatre.
