Jamie Shackelford

Trainee

Jamie ShackelfordJamie Shackelford, a native of Lexington, recently graduated from the Kentucky Ballet Theatre Academy. She spent the past nine years of her education attending the School for the Creative and Performing Arts. She has attended summer programs with the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C., the International Ballet Academy in Jackson, Mississippi, and the Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts, where she was chosen to perform the principal role in the debut of Harmony and Contrast.

Throughout her time with Kentucky Ballet Theatre, she has performed Enchanted Clara, Arabian Pas de Deux, and the Columbine Doll in The Nutcracker, Medora in Le Corsaire pas de deux, Le Jazz Hot and other roles in ballets such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and The Wizard of Oz.

This will be her second season with KBT as a Trainee. She has danced in Ballet Under the Stars for ten years and two as part of the professional company.
