Orlando Viamontes

Born in Camaguey, Cuba, Orlando Viamontes began his dance training in Camaguey in 1989. After graduation he joined Ballet de Camaguey in 1994.

His repertoire includes Collin and Alain in La Fille Mal Gardée, Emerald pas de deux, Coppélia pas de deux, and Blue Bird pas de deux in Sleeping Beauty. In 1999 he became part of Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico where he achieved the category of Soloist. There he performed principal roles in productions such as Carmina Burana, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, and others.

Mr. Viamontes has worked with very well known teachers and directors including Fernando Alonso, Jose Pares, Sylvia Marichal, Joaquin Vanegas, Maria Carrera, and Miguel Campaneria.

In KBT productions, his roles have included Cavalier and Arabian in The Nutcracker, Prince Desire in Sleeping Beauty Act II, and Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz.

Orlando joined Kentucky Ballet Theatre in 2005.
