Summer Reed is from New Salem, PA. She began dancing when she was just four years old and found her passion for ballet while training at Houck Dance Studio under the direction of Dorothy Houck-Constable. She has been honored to win regional and national solo competitions in ballet and contemporary dance under the direction of Melody Houck-Laight.

Summer has also had the privilege of dancing many wonderful roles for the Mon-Valley Ballet Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker, under the direction of Donna Marovic-Anthony, including Arabian, Harlequin Doll, Sweets, and Snow. She enjoyed studying with Mansur Kamaletdinov, former principal dancer and Acting Director of the Bolshoi Ballet, and spent this past summer training at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet.

Last season with KBT she performed several roles in productions of The Witches of Doon, The Nutcracker, and Beauty and the Beast. Summer is thrilled to join Kentucky Ballet Theatre as a Trainee for a second season.
