Breanna Justus, Apprentice

Breanna Faith Justus was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and began dancing at the age of three. She trained at the Kentucky Ballet Theatre Academy from 2007-2019 under the direction of Ms. Rafaela Risco.  Ms. Justus has performed in many classical ballets with Kentucky Ballet Theatre, including corps de ballet roles in The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Don Quixote, Raymonda, Paquita, Le Corsaire, and Harlequinade. She has also had the privilege of performing several soloist roles, including Clara in The Nutcracker and the Harlequinade pas de deux in Harlequinade. Under the coaching of Ms. Rafaela Risco, she participated in Youth America Grand Prix, where she was awarded Top Twelve in the regionals three times, and in the National Society of Arts and Letters Ballet Competition, where she placed first in the regionals and competed in the finals. She recently had the honor of working under Ms. Aurora Bosch, one of the four “Cuban Jewels”. Ms. Justus has attended summer intensives at Ballet Magnificat, the Kentucky Governor’s School of the Arts, and the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in NYC. In 2017, she had the privilege of participating in the NSLI-Y partnership with RAF Russian Language and Culture and Bolshoi Way program in Moscow, Russia, where she had the opportunity of training at the Moscow State Academy of Choreography (Bolshoi Ballet Academy) under the teaching of Ekaterina Ronnikova.  Ms. Justus is excited to be performing with KBT for her first season as a trainee.
