Isabel Tenney, Apprentice

Isabel Tenney was born in Buffalo, NY. She began her classical ballet training at age 7 when her family moved back to the U.S. after living in Hong Kong for two years.
When she turned 14, Isabel began commuting three hours to and from New York City to train at Forrest Academy of Ballet NY. At 16, she moved to Atlanta to further her ballet training at the International City School of Ballet (ICSB.)
Isabel has performed a multitude of solo and ensemble repertoire from both classical (Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Paquita, Giselle, Le Corsaire, La Bayadere, Don Quixote) and contemporary works. At the Universal Ballet Competition in Atlanta, her contemporary solo “Posterity” won first place; she was awarded Top Twelve in both the classical and contemporary categories at the 2021 Atlanta Youth America Grand Prix and was a member of ICSB’s two-time winning ensemble. In December 2021, she performed Arabian as a guest artist in the Greenwich Conservatory of Classical Ballet’s Nutcracker, a production that featured ABT’s great Christine Schevenko." This is Isabel’s first season with Kentucky Ballet Theatre.
