New students in the Pre-ballet & Creative movement levels
Age 2-3 (not toilet-trained) Mommy & Me (call for availability)
Age 3-4 Creative Movement 1 (Monday 4:15 p.m. -or- Saturday 9:30 a.m.)
Age 4-5 Creative Movement 2 (Monday 4:15 p.m. -or- Saturday 9:30 a..m.)
Ages 5-6 (Kindergarten) Pre-Ballet 1 (Monday 5:00 p.m. -or- Saturday 10:15 a.m.)
Ages 6-7 (1st grade) Pre-Ballet 2 (Monday 4:30 p.m. -or- Saturday 9:45 a.m.)
New Beginning Level students
Ages 7-9 Beginning A (limited space)
Ages 8-10 Placement class recommended
Ages 9+ Placement class required
New Intermediate-Advance Level students
Classical Division ages 10+ Private placement class required
Pre-Professional Division ages 10+ By invitation & Private placement class required
Kentucky Ballet Theatre offers part-time students an option to take 1-3 classes per week.
To attend Academy division classes, students must take a placement class or be invited. Part-time students are not able to take any of the pre-professional division classes. Only classes with available spots can be registered for. Students are eligible to be added to the waitlist (see closed classes below).
Adult Ballet & Fitness classes are offered 3 times per week. Students can take multiple classes.
Elective classes, including Jazz, Tap & Hip-Hop are available only if a student is registered for at least one ballet class, or by invitation. Classes fill quickly and are only open to part-time students if space is available.
Registration for the Open Division division is open.
Kentucky Ballet Theatre offers small classes. If a class is full, a waitlist will be opened.
If you are interested in the closed classes, you can sign up on the waitlist if
an additional class is added or spots open, you will be contacted via e-mail.
Students ages 5-18, enrolled full-time, will have 3 performance opportunities during the year. Two main-stage productions --The Nutcracker, & Pinocchio and as well as the End of the Year performance on May 31st -- all at the Lexington Opera House
