Jenna Burns

Jenna Burnes began her ballet training later than most after undergoing heart surgery as a young child to correct a congenital heart defect. Once she was able to dance, she found her home at Draper Center for Dance Education, where she trained extensively and competed at Youth America Grand Prix. Through YAGP, Jenna was scouted by Hochschule für Musik und Tanz München in Munich, Germany, where she continued her training alongside students from around the world. Her time abroad broadened both her artistic and personal perspective and deepened her passion for classical ballet.

Following her studies in Germany, Jenna joined New York State Ballet as a trainee and performed with the company during the 2016–2017 season at the age of sixteen. She then auditioned for and was accepted into the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Aspirant Program on a full scholarship, where she trained from 2017 to 2019. Upon completing the program, Jenna joined the Royal Winnipeg Ballet as an Apprentice and was later promoted to the Corps de Ballet.

During her time with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Jenna has had the opportunity to perform a wide range of classical and contemporary repertoire. Some of her favorite roles include the Pas de Trois and Cygnets in Swan Lake, White Cat and Diamond in The Sleeping Beauty, the lead role in Carmina Burana, and Chinese Tea in The Nutcracker.

Jenna is excited to begin this next chapter of her career in Lexington and looks forward to continuing to grow as an artist while contributing to the company's artistic vision.
