Kinley Reed was born in Lexington, Kentucky. She began her studies in ballet at the age of 10 at Gloria Deo School of the Arts under the direction of Sarah Henderson. There, Kinley danced several soloist roles, including Dew Drop in “The Nutcracker”. She participated in summer intensives taught by Emily Carrico and Sergio Masero. Kinley, at 10 years old, was invited to participate in a pas de deux workshop led by David Goud. Kinley has also danced the principal role of Lucy Pevensie in “The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe” 3 years in a row and will be performing as Lucy again this year. In 2020, after the closing of GDSA, she began training under Academy Director, Rafaela Risco, at Kentucky Ballet Theatre. While at KBT, Kinley has had many opportunities to dance in the corps de ballet with KBT’s Professional Company under the instruction of Artistic Director, Norbe Risco. Kinley loves the art of ballet and is excited to begin her second year as a Trainee in the Kentucky Ballet Theatre Professional Company.
