Pre-Professional Contemporary
INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCE 

The Kentucky Ballet Theatre Academy division is designed for students wanting to pursue a variety of dance styles. Our curriculum allows boys and girls to gain confidence in their dancing with the support of caring and nurturing faculty. Students work on strength, balance, flexibility while studying the principles of ballet. Training develops a strong foundation of physical and mental understanding necessary for a variety of
dance styles and college dance programs.
Multiple performance opportunities are available.

Dress Code & Uniforms 

Academy Dress Code & Uniform Policy

To maintain a professional training environment and ensure consistency across all levels, Kentucky Ballet Theatre Academy requires all students to adhere to the following dress code policies:

  • Hair: All students must arrive with hair neatly secured in a tight ballet bun.

  • Uniforms: Students are required to wear the designated uniform for their assigned level at every class.

  • KBT Logo: All required uniforms must have the official Kentucky Ballet Theatre Academy logo embroidered.

  • Cover-Ups: Cover-ups are optional; however, only approved styles listed in the dress code guidelines may be worn.

  • Ballet Skirts: Ballet skirts are not permitted in Beginning C through Advanced levels or in any Pre-Professional Division classes.

  • Personal Items: Students are encouraged to label all leotards, tights, shoes, and dancewear with their name to help prevent lost items.

Uniform Purchases

All Academy uniforms must be purchased through Dance Biz, KBT's official dancewear provider. Kentucky Ballet Theatre Academy students receive a 10% discount on uniform purchases.
