Pre-Professional Classical
INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCE
Pre-Professional Program
The Pre-Professional Program at Kentucky Ballet Theatre Academy is designed for highly dedicated students who demonstrate exceptional commitment, discipline, and a desire to pursue advanced ballet training. Students accepted into this program aspire to the highest standards of technical excellence, artistry, and professionalism.
Under the guidance of our faculty of professional dancers and directors, students receive comprehensive training that includes ballet technique, pointe work, variations, pas de deux, repertoire, Contemporary, and Modern, along with valuable performance opportunities throughout the season. Pre-Professional students perform with the Kentucky Ballet Theatre Company and participate in an annual showcase highlighting their growth and accomplishments.
Through individualized instruction, regular assessments, and clearly communicated expectations, students are challenged to reach their fullest potential both as artists and as individuals. The program fosters discipline, commitment, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the art of ballet while preparing students for collegiate dance programs, professional training opportunities, and careers in the performing arts.
Admission to the Pre-Professional Program is by invitation or approval of the Academy Director only. Students must be enrolled full-time in the Academy and are required to participate in the annual dance medicine evaluations conducted by Jacqui Haas, author of Dance Anatomy.
This program is intended for students with a serious commitment to ballet training and those who aspire to pursue dance at the university, pre-professional, or professional level.
